We love going out to Taziki’s.
But of course feeding 6 people going out anywhere is expensive.
My wallet prefers when we satisfy our cravings for our favorites at home.
And with this copycat Taziki’s tomato chutney you can do just that!
Like Taziki’s tomato chutney, this copycat version creates less of a traditional chutney and more of an aioli style condiment.
It’s super delicious with almost any meat or spread on sandwiches!
Ingredients
To make this, you’ll need:
- Honey
- Roasted garlic– Either roast your own or buy a jar of roasted garlic.
- Sun dried tomatoes– You can use either oil packed or the dry ones.
- Olive oil
- Mayonnaise– Real mayonnaise and not Miracle Whip or mayonnaise style dressing.
- Chipotle pepper– The kind canned in adobo sauce. Finely chop it.
- Raisins– Minced
- Salt–smoked salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper- To taste
How to Make
To make this copycat Taziki’s tomato chutney recipe, just vigorously whisk all the ingredients except the olive oil together in a small mixing bowl.
Once the mixture is smooth, add the olive oil and whisk it again until it’s evenly incorporated.
Serve and enjoy!
What do you do with tomato chutney?
You can do so many things with this!
We love serving this with grilled meats and kebabs.
It’s also delicious spread in sandwiches, wraps, and even burgers!
Storing
Store any leftover chutney in an airtight container or sealed jar in the fridge for up to a week.
Tips and Tricks
- You can serve this chutney warm like a traditional chutney or chill it and serve it more like an aioli.
- Prefer things on the smoother side? You can puree the mixture using an immersion blender, or add all of the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Don’t have smoked salt? Use regular.
